I had the pleasure to attend The Makeup Show in Orlando as Press.
On March 18th and 19th ,The Hyatt Regency Orlando which is one of the most beautiful hotels in the city opened its doors to over 75 beauty brands, top celebrity makeup artists and 4,000 pros.


I loved being able to meet all the wonderful professionals, to get inspired and find out about new brands and products. I also enjoyed listening to James Vincent, his speech was very informative and inspiring.
The Play Area which was introduced this year was lots of fun, I loved testing and comparing all the products...made me feel like a little child in a candy store.


The Makeup Show is held in LA, NYC, Dallas, Chicago and Orlando. If you have the chance go, you'll love it. For more information visit their website.

I'm very honored to have gotten the chance to Interview Shelly Taggar, the owner of the show. Read the interview below.

1.How did you decide to start The Makeup Show?

12 years ago we noticed that there were a lot of hair shows, but no makeup shows. Makeup brands were included in hair shows, but would get lost in there. The beauty industry is huge and made us realize the need for a makeup artist show that is only focused on cosmetics. That’s when we started The Makeup Show and it has been a huge success from the first year and on.

2.What makes the show such a huge success?

I think it’s the fact that we are all about the industry and how to support it. We focus on how to help artists grow within it and how to get them inspired. When you enter the show you it’s our hope that you feel it and see all the opportunities we provide the working artist, form education to career fairs as well as special networking events.

3.How do you choose the cities in which the show will be held?

We do marketing research to see what other shows or events makeup artists are attending, as well as areas the beauty industry is booming, like Dallas. We also look at where makeup artists are based. Those always work out to be great spaces for our show.  

4.The Makeup Show was held in Berlin, Germany. Do you think of having a show in Europe again?

Yes, I hope to go back to Europe at some point. We haven’t decided on what city and country yet, but Berlin was a great place for the show in the past, so you never know.

5.What is your favorite trend this season?

Glitter! Everywhere and on everything.

    This sounds like such an amazing experience and opportunity! My boyfriend works in the beauty industry so I know a lot about makeup too! Looks like you had fun and congrats on this interview with the owner!

    I definitely think the makeup show should visit Stockholm, Sweden for their next stop in Europe for sure as I for one would be attending! :) Sounds like a lovely event and you made it so personal with the interview! :)
